Bulgarians Caught Swindling ATM Machines

It doesn’t matter where you come from, if you steal from innocent people you should be punished and made to pay for your dishonesty. I hope that the book is thrown at these criminals and I am sure it will be, as it seems that Bulgaria does punish crimes like this severely.

Bulgarians Caught Swindling ATM Machines
Greek Authorities in northern Greece have neutralised a gang of Bulgarians who were swindling money off unsuspecting customers by copying their bank details, the Kathimerini has reported.

The Bulgarians were described as "extremely well organised". The men are accused of having targetted Greek citizens, tourists and, Italians in particular.

"This was an extremely well-organised ring that has been operating in Greece for a long time," said Serres police chief Nikolaos Rizos, quoted by Kathimerini.

One of the suspects was arrested in the southwestern Bulgarian town of Blagoevgrad, after he tried to make an escape, following the earlier crackdown on his associates by Greek police. On June 13, four Bulgarians were caught in the northern peninsula of Halkidiki.

"This type of crime has taken up a lot of police time recently, so the breakup of the ring is a real success for both police forces," said the chief inspector for northern Greece, Stergios Apostolides.

This is not the first time Bulgarian citizens have attracted the attention of authorities abroad because of similar criminal operations.
