More Drug Finds In Bulgarian Ports Means More Going Through

More Drug Finds In Bulgarian Ports Means More Going Through

It seems that the new Bulgarian resolution to tighten up on drug trafficking is now coming into play with this new capture. Or is it a front and a gesture to cover the real trafficking that is being let through. I always remember customs saying there is only a small percentage of drugs that are found out and that remains constant. This means that the more that have been found out and seized means that there is more going through. Wherever there is a market for drugs there will be people trying to tap into that market. There will be more finds but the vast majority get through with corruption still ripe in this trade.

Bulgarian customs officers have seized more than 700 litres of concentrated cocaine worth an estimated 10 million euros ($17.9 million) found concealed in over 1,000 wine bottles, officials said.
The drugs, found hidden in a container which had been loaded in Bolivia and shipped via Chile, were seized in the Black Sea port of Varna in a joint operation with the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
Customs officials said the cocaine was destined for Europe.
Officials said the operation was ongoing and would not say whether arrests had been made.
